To Catch a Leprechaun

17 Mar

When I mention Twitter, most of the time people say they don’t get it.  Without being on Twitter, it’s hard to see its benefits.  I often say Facebook is for people you were friends with in high school and Twitter is for people you wish you were friends with in high school.  I learn so much from those I follow.  Learning about pregnancy and motherhood is no exception.  Usually its information, but once in a while, I learn about something that makes me yearn to have a kid NOW.

Twitter introduced me to the tradition (or maybe its a new tradition) of leprechaun traps.  Have you heard of these???  From what I gather, in the week leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, leprechauns cause mischief in the house turning the milk green, leaving green footprints, turning the toilet water green, leaving green kisses on everyone’s foreheads.  Then the family builds a trap to catch leprechaun.  (Spoiler Alert: He never gets caught.  Sometimes he trashes the trap trying to escape or drops some gold coins made of chocolate in his escape.)

Can you say OMG WHAT AN AWESOME TRADITION.  Of course, with my family, our leprechaun trap will be hardcore.  To see some other traps, visit here.  Note to self: DO NOT FORGET ABOUT THIS BEFORE YOUR CHILD IS OLD ENOUGH TO ENJOY IT!

How flippin’ cute is that idea? I love it. Definitely going to implement that when this baby finally decides to make his/her appearance.
